We are a community interest company founded by STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) graduates with the vision of engineering a more diverse and inclusive culture in STEM. Our tailored services aim to transform industries, academic institutions and businesses by engaging in knowledge transfer activities through human centered design and gender equality strategies that has a positive impact for all.
We always wondered why we feel cold in the office, why it took so long to create seatbelts for pregant women and noticed that road curbs inhibit disabled people's mobility. And we're sure you have probably wondered or noticed some of these too. This is because of non-inclusive innovations - innovations that do not include your gender, disability, ethnicity, class or religion.
Non-inclusive innovations are due to the lack of diversity. Only 24% of the core-STEM workforce are women, this shocking statisic is one of the many reasons why we lack inclusive innovations.
We plan to change that by:
1. Taking part in early innovation development.
2. Increasing diversity by encouraging more women and other minorities into STEM education and careers.
3. Raising awareness of unconscious bias when in the design process, workplace and classroom.
Engaging schools and universities to promote STEM through spreading opportunites, learning activites, demonstrations and awareness about the importance of diversity & inclusion.
Custom workshops on inclusive recruitment and retention strategy to encourage diverse applications with a focus on women and BAME including unconscious and implicit bias awareness.
Working with innovation companies to ensure that products and services incorporate a full range of perspectives. This includes human centered design to better benefit the target demographic users.
